Wet Rooms

 

A common use of underfloor heating is in a wetroom or walk-in shower area. Hot Floors are able to supply a whole range of tanking products that are suitable for use with underfloor heating. All of our wet room products are made in Denmark by Mira. Mira have an excellent reputation for making excellent quality and highly effective products. The range of Mira products includes tanking systems, Tile Adhesives and Leveling Compounds.

Mira Tanking Products:-

    • Mira 4120 Sealer: Used for sealing porous materials such as plasterboard, concrete and floor boards. Simply paint on to the surface and allow to dry before applying 4400 Multicoat and Safecoat.
  • Mira 4400 Multicoat: is basically a liquid neoprene rubber. When dry it creates a flexible rubber membrane that is 100% waterproof. You can use Underfloor heating and tile adhesive directly on top of the 4400 multicoat. Coverage - Floors 1.5KG per m²; Walls - 1.0KG per m².
  • Mira Safecoat: is a cloth based mesh that acts as a carrier for the 4400 Multicoat. Safecoat should be used where a thicker coat of Multicoat is required, for example on floors, skirtings and around pipe work. The 1.0 metre wide safecoat is ideal for waterproofing walls and the 10cm wide safecoat is suitable for waterproofing skirtings and joins between Marmox Showertrays and boards. Safecoat pipe seals are used to waterproof around 15mm and 22mm pipes. Safecoat internal and external corners are available for waterproofing around corners.
  • Mira Waterproofing Kit: This is a kit we put together consisting of a 2 litre bucket of 4400 Multicoat and a 25 metre roll of 10cm safecoat. This kit is ideal for waterproofing joins around the Marmox Showerlays and Marmox Boards.
